NADA is a National Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered with the Humanitarian Aid Commission since September 2013. Founded by experienced professionals in the field, NADA is committed to addressing key issues in Child Protection, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), General Protection, and Mine Action Activities. With its headquarters in Khartoum, NADA operates five sub-offices across North Darfur, River Nile, Central Darfur, West Darfur, and White Nile.
NADA is the first and only national NGO co-coordinating both the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Mine Action sub-sectors in Sudan. Our leadership in these areas reflects our deep-rooted presence, commitment to community-led solutions, and technical expertise.

Leadership in Humanitarian Coordination

NADA proudly represents national NGOs on the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF) Advisory Board—Sudan’s primary country-based pooled fund supporting localization. As part of our advocacy for inclusive humanitarian action, NADA also serves as a member of the Strategic Advisory Groups (SAGs) for both the Child Protection and GBV Areas of Responsibility, representing Women-Led Organizations (WLOs) and national NGOs.

Direct Partnership with USAID/BHA

Following the launch of USAID’s Locally Led Humanitarian Assistance (LLHA) policy, NADA became the first Sudanese NGO to receive bilateral funding directly from the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA). This partnership reaffirms the trust in national actors and underscores the importance of localized responses in complex emergencies. As a direct implementing partner, we deliver life-saving services under conditions of insecurity, famine, flooding, and disease outbreaks.

Advancing Localization and WLO Empowerment

As a Women-Led Organization, NADA has consistently advocated for meaningful inclusion of local actors and women’s leadership in humanitarian coordination. In 2024, NADA contributed to key regional and global policy discussions, including:
• USAID’s LLHA Policy launch (September 2024), where we shared our journey and impact.
• The ECOSOC Humanitarian Affairs Segment Opening Panel (June 2024), representing WLOs globally alongside the UN Secretary-General.
• The GPC Forum (November 2024) opening session, where we addressed the GBV situation in Sudan and introduced NADAs programming.
• The IOM Global Learning Series during the 16 Days of Activism, highlighting successful practices by WLOs in GBV response across the MENA region.

Protection Programming in Conflict Zones

Despite the risks posed by armed conflict, NADA continues to deliver protection services where international actors have withdrawn. Our community-based programming includes GBV prevention awareness sessions for armed actors, using culturally sensitive language to challenge and shift harmful norms. We are working to develop impact indicators to assess the reduction in GBV incidents resulting from these awareness efforts.
